Think Like a Mathematician: Start Counting: Every skill requires revisiting the basics. How can counting help you in your math classes today? Combinatorics is a field of mathematics loosely described as “fancy counting”. We will explore a few counting problems and see how the underlying strategies help us to be better at mathematics and problem solving. Lastly, we will preview examples of questions in modern active combinatorics research. Open to all students, faculty, and community members.
