Come explore Osborn Preserve for a journey through geologic time with an SSU Geology alum whose enthusiasm for this topic will make you a "rock nerd" too! Geology is more than you might think! It is the study of the Earth: its composition, history and physical processes. How have tectonic, seismic, and volcanic events formed the rocks, valleys, and mountains around us? What about streams, landslides, fires, and human influence? Deep Earth forces have uplifted the mountains & valleys of Sonoma County out of the ocean over millions of years, caused volcanic eruptions, and created topography at the intersection of countless faults. This event is family friendly and part of SSU’s Big Blue Weekend!
