Join us and explore Galbreath Preserve. Led by SSU’s Geology instructor Nicole Myers, learn about geologic processes and climatic trends that comprise the natural forces of Northern California, including wildfires, floods and earthquakes. Find out how the California Coast Range was formed by the same geologic events that shaped the Sierra Nevadas and Central Valley of California. Learn how the coastal rocks that we live on made it to California from the deep waters of the central Pacific Ocean, and how those rocks were changed by the forces of plate tectonics.
