Whose Voice are We Hearing? Amplifying Equity, Joy, and Curiosity in the Math Classroom: Who speaks in a math classroom, and whose perspectives get left out? Creating an equitable environment requires intentionally designing spaces where every voice - especially those historically underrepresented in STEM - feels heard, valued, and essential. In this interactive colloquium, we will examine how everyday classroom dynamics shape student participation, belonging, and confidence. Designed for both students and faculty, this session combines collaborative discussion, small-group brainstorming, and a hands-on activity, learning with actionable strategies to build joyful, inclusive. And supportive mathematical communities. Open to all students, faculty, and community members.
