The Joy of SET: Math in a Card Game: The card game SET is played with a special deck of 81 cards. There is a lot of mathematics that can be explored using the game. Mathematics can enhance your appreciation of the game, and the game leads to deeper understanding of the related mathematics. In this talk, we’ll look at questions and ideas in combinatorics, probability, and especially geometry, which is central to SET. Many of these questions can lead to research projects, lots of things to figure out. Open to all students, faculty, and community members.
