Creative Communications Coordinator
As a content creator and storyteller, the Creative Communications Coordinator drives the Seawolf Living brand through compelling narratives, dynamic emails, engaging blog posts, and impactful marketing materials. This role plays a pivotal part in shaping the brand's voice by producing student-centered content and managing cross-channel communications. Blending creativity with strategy, the position fosters awareness, engagement, and meaningful connections across the Sonoma State community.
Responsibilities:
- Develop content for the Seawolf Living brand with a peer-to-peer tone and voice that resonates with students.
- Write, design, and distribute email campaigns that align with engagement goals.
- Maintain the Seawolf Living website, ensuring timely updates, accessibility, and brand consistency.
- Research, write, and publish a blog post weekly.
- Adapt copy to specific target audiences, tailoring messaging for maximum impact across departments and platforms.
- Create and manage integrated marketing and communications calendars.
- Plan, produce, and execute communication campaigns, tracking performance and analyzing results to inform future strategy.
- Support updates to department websites in collaboration with campus partners.
- Act as a brand ambassador to raise visibility and strengthen awareness for Sonoma State University and Seawolf Living.
- Contribute to video and photo projects by developing concepts, writing scripts, assisting in production, and appearing as on-screen talent.
- Collaborate on additional projects and initiatives as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Demonstrated experience in marketing, communications, or public relations, with a focus on copywriting or content creation.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to write, proofread, and edit content that is clear, engaging, and grammatically accurate.
- Proven ability to coordinate multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize effectively, and consistently meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong intercultural fluency and a commitment to fostering an inclusive, diverse, and equitable work environment.
- Professional, positive, and proactive attitude; results-driven with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Highly detail-oriented with strong organizational, project coordination, and analytical skills.
- Enthusiasm for learning and gaining hands-on marketing experience, with the ability to produce professional-quality work in a fun and creative environment.
